6 Ways to Get Weed Smell Out of Your House

We all know that weed is a flower. Thanks to this, weed is very good at creating odorous chemicals designed to attract pollinators to the flower, while also keeping predators away.

The strong, rich smell of weed is one of the things we enjoy, but also one of those things that create a whole slew of issues. Like the smell of weed settling into the various fabrics in your home. You may enjoy the substance and shopping for it at a weed dispensary. However, you don’t necessarily want to announce it to everyone who happens to enter your home.

Luckily, we have six tips on how to get weed smell out of house:

1. Burn Incense

A very effective way to remove the smell of weed from your home is to burn incense. Many different kinds of incense work well for this.

One of these is called Nag Champa. This type of incense is usually burnt in ashrams. Nag Champa contains a mixture of Champa flower, Indian sandalwood, and vanilla, to name a few ingredients.
Not only does this type of incense remove the smell of weed from your house, but if you just smoked some and it seems to be lingering, burn some of this and it will get rid of it right away!

2. Spray Febreeze

Spraying Febreeze is another great way to get the weed smell out of your house. Most of us have a half-used bottle of Febreeze hanging around in a cupboard somewhere in our home. Not only can you use this to get pet smells and food smells out of fabric, but you can also use it to get the smell of weed out of your home.

Keep in mind that Febreeze won’t fully rid your house of weed smell, but it will help reduce it and is a good method to turn to if you need a quick solution.

3. Get the Fresh Air Rotating in Your Home

If you find your house smelling like weed, it’s always a good idea to change the air inside. Open up all of your windows, and even your doors. Once you get some fresh air in your house and it starts to circulate it, it will slowly get rid of the weed smell.

To make this process even more efficient, place a rotating fan or box fan as close to the window as you can and put it on high speed. It’s also a good idea to get your ceiling fan spinning too.

You will also want to make sure that the offending smelly substance had been disposed of correctly (bong water washed down the toilet, ashtrays dumped out, and the trash is taken out). You will also want to make sure you are storing your weed correctly, which we will discuss in more detail in the next point so that you don’t have that contributing to the smell even when you’re not smoking.

4. Store Your Weed Correctly

That pesky weed smell is hard to contain. We recommend investing in good quality, air-tight container. Mason jars also work well if you can securely and tightly fasten the lid.

If you really want to invest in something that will work, some vacuum-sealed containers on the market will do a very good job of storing your weed without letting any of the smell out. You can most likely find these online by doing a quick search.

5. Smoke in the Shower

To help you better contain the weed smell and stop it from spreading throughout your whole home (making it that much harder to get rid of), smoke in the shower.

How does this work? Turn your shower on as hot as it will go. This will create lots of steam which will help dissipate the smell as both the steam and the weed smell is sucked into the fan.

Take this one step further by rolling up an old towel and cramming it in the space between the door and floor. Then, shower and you’ll also have the smell of your body wash and shampoo to help mask the smell and freshen the place.

6. Invest in a Vape Pen

Although vape pens still produce some smelly smoke, it is still much less than smoking it using a bong. This means that you will have less odour to contend with and will be able to make it a whole lot better, no matter where you happen to be smoking.

Search for vape pens online or visit your local weed dispensary to see if they sell any. If not, they may still be able to make a good recommendation for you. One of the other great things about vape pens is that there are many different types, at many different price points, making it easy to find something within your budget.

Happy smoking (or vaping)!
