7 Best Foods That Go Well With Milk

Goat milk is the most consumed milk (by humans) in the world. More people all over the world drink goat milk. In North America, cow milk is more popular, but there are quite a number of benefits and advantages to using goat milk formula. In fact, goat milk is used in baby formula too because it doesn’t cause as many problems as cow milk and is more easily digested. Goat milk can also be used in many other ways, so let’s take a look at what some of these are.

1. Drink

The obvious choice for using goat milk is to drink it. Due to the way it’s different to cow milk, people who cannot drink cow milk because of intolerance or other issues may have less (if any) issues drinking goat milk. It’s quicker to digest and causes little to no irritation.

2. Use It In Cereal

Next time you eat your morning cereal, why not pour some goat milk on it? You’ve been using cow milk all this time. You never know, you may just love it! Perhaps you could also try granola and fruit topped with goat milk.

3. Yogurt

Yogurt is good food and also contains proteins. It also has probiotics which is something we need. You can actually make your own goat milk yogurt or buy it in a store. If you like, you can even add fruit to it or add flavours such as vanilla. Plain goat milk yogurt is just as good and as yummy.

4. Goat Cheese

This is a good source of protein, nutrients and minerals that’s lower in fat as well as calories. It’s protein and calcium content is higher than cheese made from cow milk. It’s also a good source of vitamins A, C, D, B1, B6 and K. It’s a good source of iron as well. You can make (or buy) different varieties of goat cheese.

5. Kefir

Perhaps not too many people have heard of this, but just to give you an idea, it is kind of like yogurt where you have good bacteria processing the goat milk so that it is healthy for you. However, it does not taste like yogurt but has a tangy, unique taste that you may need to get used to. It is sometimes called the “champagne of milk”. If you can’t take the flavour, you can get it with fruity or vanilla flavours.

6. Smoothies & Milk Shakes

If you have a decent blender in your household, why not try to make a milk shake or smoothie using goat milk? Make a smoothie and to keep it cool, place milk cubes of goat milk in it, instead of normal ice cubes. Mmmm.

7. Cajeta

Cajeta is a thickened syrup made of caramelized goat’s milk which you can add to a number of things if you want to be taken to heaven immediately! You can add it to ice cream, marshmallows, rice puddings or sliced apples. Adding cajeta to these gives it a special touch. You can use other juices or liquids as a base, but goat’s milk is the most popular choice.

There are so many other uses for goat milk that you can make at home or buy in the stores. You can use goat milk soap which is very good for your skin; you can use goat milk in cooking or make a pudding for dessert. Make ice cream or egg nog using goat’s milk; who knows, you may just enjoy it so much that you might change to goat milk permanently.
